This sophisticated TFT screen boasts a 2.1" diagonal display with 16-bit full-color 480 x 480 pixel resolution, making it ideal for advanced users seeking a visually appealing display. Its IPS display ensures picture quality up to 80° off-axis in any direction.
The ST7701S driver facilitates both SPI and TTL RGB 'dot clock' data. The SPI is limited to configuration--it cannot render pixels. Additionally, this 40-pin display does not possess the same pinout as the standard 800x480 (4.3", 5" or 7") or 480x272 (4.3") displays; the Round RGB 666 TTL TFT Display - 2.1" 480x480 - Capacitive Touch is a distinct device.
For illumination, you'll require a chip with TTL RGB TFT driving capabilities, such as the ESP32-S3 with octal PSRAM or a computer like Raspberry Pi (with either direct-DPI connection or ICN6211 middleman). Wiring up a Feather or Arduino won't suffice.
This display is not only round, it has a lovely bezel with capacitive touch display (FT6336U) with connection for I2C and IRQ on the 40-pin FPC.
This is just the display module! No PCB is included.
You cannot use these with an every day microcontroller unless it specifically has support for RGB-666 displays so please do not purchase unless you know for sure that it can plug into a driver board with the correct pinout as well.
