The HiFiBerry Amp is a high-quality, highly efficient Class-D power amplifier for the Raspberry Pi.
Mount it onto the Raspberry Pi and you have a stereo audio system. You only have to connect your loudspeakers. It provides up to 60W power. You only need a single 12-24V power supply to power the Raspberry Pi and the Amp+. With 4 Ohm speakers, we recommend 12-18V. Higher operating voltages are only recommended with 8 Ohm speakers.
It powers the Raspberry Pi, there is no need to add an external 5V power supply to the Raspberry Pi.
The Amp2 is designed to work with all speakers or 4-8 Ohm impedance. It supports sample rates from 44.1-192kHz.
The speaker connections are the same as on the Amp+.
If the software you’re using doesn’t provide the Amp2 as an output option, you should use the HiFiBerry DAC+ driver as the Amp2 is basically a DAC+ with an integrated power stage.

Receipt of deliveries
Deliveries to post office boxes are not permitted where delivery is by courier. If delivery is by courier and nobody is available at the delivery address to accept delivery when delivery is attempted then the courier may either:
- leave the relevant parcel at the unattended address (the courier will do so if specified in your delivery requirements); or
- re-attempt delivery at a later time or date, in which case we may charge you an additional re-delivery fee.
Note that if a delivery is left unattended at the shipping address and is subsequently stolen then the theft is your responsibility, not ours.
Awesome sound from tiny amp
The HifiBerry amp2 and Raspberry Pi just click together. The HifiBerry case needed a touch of filing to fit. Very neat. Loaded a Max2play image using Etcher and it was up and amazing. 5 stars to Pakronics, interesting products, great prices, amazing communication (emails on Sunday night), prompt delivery.
Works very well.
After a fair bit of messing around I found that doing some minor configuration is essential. The guide I used is at: https://www.hifiberry.com/build/documentation/configuring-linux-3-18-x/ I believe Raspbarian has to be used (not an issue for most). I'm using a Pi Zero W and the sound is great.
