The Gravity: GP8600 16-bit DAC module is a high-precision signal conversion tool designed to bridge the gap between digital microcontrollers and analog industrial equipment. By converting I2C or PWM input signals into stable 0-5V, 0-10V, or 4-20mA outputs, this digital-to-analog converter enables makers to control standard industrial hardware—such as lighting systems, inverters, and valves—using logic-level controllers like Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi. Unlike basic 8-bit DACs, this GP8600 converter offers a linearity error of just ±0.2% and supports cascading up to 8 devices, making the unit ideal for complex, multi-channel automation projects requiring fine-grained control.
Industrial-Grade Signal Conversion
The GP8600 DAC module excels in scenarios requiring compatibility with industrial standards. While many microcontrollers only output weak 3.3V analog signals, this converter boosts these logic signals to industry-standard 0-10V voltage or 4-20mA current loops. This capability allows the GP8600 to drive water pumps, servo motors, and heavy-duty lighting drivers directly. The inclusion of a 4-20mA current mode is particularly valuable for transmitting signals over long distances in noisy electrical environments without signal loss.
Flexible Control & Expansion
Designed for scalability, the GP8600 16-bit converter supports 8 adjustable I2C addresses, enabling the simultaneous control of up to 8 independent channels from a single microcontroller interface. This feature simplifies the wiring for multi-axis motor controllers or complex LED arrays. Additionally, the device accepts a wide 3.3V-5V power supply and utilizes the standard Gravity PH2.0 interface, ensuring plug-and-play compatibility with the DFRobot ecosystem and widespread platforms like STM32 and Raspberry Pi.
