PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Expansion Dock is the perfect companion for the Omega, making it incredibly convenient and easy to use as well as exposing a variety of the Omega’s features. We strongly recommend getting a Dock for your Omega to get the best experience and most performance, functionality, and stability from your device.
Convenience
You can provide power to the Omega and Dock with any Micro USB cable. The Dock includes a regulator circuit that ensures the Omega always receives the stable 3.3V it needs to operate optimally.
Functionality
The Dock exposes several of the Omega’s features to the user:
- The Omega’s GPIOs are exposed on the Expansion Header. Use the header to plug in Onion Expansions or connect to external circuits
- Connect USB devices directly to your Omega
- Control the RGB LED on the Dock using the Omega’s GPIOs
- Press the Reset Button to reboot your Omega, hold it for 10 seconds to perform a factory restore
- Turn your Omega on and off with the Power Switch
Modular
Compatible with all Omega Expansions. Extend the functionality of your Omega by connecting one of our plug and play Expansions.
Ease of Use
Thanks to the on-board USB-to-Serial chip, you will always have access to the Omega’s serial terminal. No network connectivity required, just a solid USB connection. The serial terminal is especially handy when accessing the bootloader to reflash your Omega.

AustraliaOnion Omega2 + expansion card: first 24hrs
Pakronics service was v. good. Hardware arrived in good condition and went together well. Setup was a problem - firstly identifying the correct version of the setup instructions to use was a matter of trial and error; second the device name did not work as advertised (was not based on the MAC address); third the update and console download stalled as described in one of Setup versions, however after trying a few different things and restarting everything the Omega booted straight up into the GUI without further download?? From that point things seem to be going ok. There are still issues with settings, passwords and device name but these will be resolved in time.

Unless expressly agreed otherwise with you, we will not commence delivery of an order until we have received cleared payment of the purchase price in full.
All orders placed before 11 am AEST (Monday to Friday) will ordinarily be processed on the same day.
We will endeavour to ship the Products by the applicable time indicated on the website, but all times are indicative only. All shipping times are dispatch times only, and actual delivery dates will depend on the shipping method chosen, delivery address and delivery service provider.

Receipt of deliveries
Deliveries to post office boxes are not permitted where delivery is by courier. If delivery is by courier and nobody is available at the delivery address to accept delivery when delivery is attempted then the courier may either:
- leave the relevant parcel at the unattended address (the courier will do so if specified in your delivery requirements); or
- re-attempt delivery at a later time or date, in which case we may charge you an additional re-delivery fee.
Note that if a delivery is left unattended at the shipping address and is subsequently stolen then the theft is your responsibility, not ours.
