Mount the Amp4 onto the Raspberry Pi to create a stereo audio system, then connect your speakers. It provides up to 60W of power and requires only one 12-24V power supply to power both the Raspberry Pi and Amp4. If using 4 Ohm speakers, we suggest 12-20V. If using 8 Ohm speakers, a higher voltage is preferable, yet 20V is recommended for the best experience.
The HiFiBerry Amp4 provides sufficient power to the Raspberry Pi, eliminating the need for an additional 5V power source.
The Amp4 is designed to work with all speakers or 4-8 Ohm impedance. It supports sample rates from 44.1-192kHz (16-32bit).
The Amp4 can be equipped with the DSP add-on board to enable advanced digital signal processing capabilities.
If the software you’re using doesn’t provide the Amp4 as an output option, you should use the HiFiBerry DAC+ driver as the Amp4 is basically a DAC+ with an integrated power stage.
The Amp4 integrated voltage converter is powerful enough to power even the new Raspberry Pi 4. Just note that it is not designed to power additional power-hungry USB devices or other hardware. There isn’t a problem with low-power devices like mice, keyboards and similar. There might be even enough power for external hard disks, but the system might become unstable if too much additional current is drawn from the USB boards or the 5V rail on the GPIOs.

Receipt of deliveries
Deliveries to post office boxes are not permitted where delivery is by courier. If delivery is by courier and nobody is available at the delivery address to accept delivery when delivery is attempted then the courier may either:
- leave the relevant parcel at the unattended address (the courier will do so if specified in your delivery requirements); or
- re-attempt delivery at a later time or date, in which case we may charge you an additional re-delivery fee.
Note that if a delivery is left unattended at the shipping address and is subsequently stolen then the theft is your responsibility, not ours.
