Getting Started with DJI Robomaster EP Core
DJI Robomaster S1 and EP Core are almost similar in most of their functions.
Both the DJI Robomaster S1 and EP Core are programmable LEGO-like robots that can be controlled anywhere. It comes with a fully-featured mobile app that lets you control your robot directly from your phone or tablet.
Like the Robomaster S1, EP Core is also a fully autonomous, game-changing educational robot that can be programmed via an Android or iOS app. The app allows users to control the robot and its movements and create and edit robot programs. It’s an ideal choice for any student interested in robotics, engineering or programming.
The DJI Robomaster EP Core is a completely new robot that builds on the company’s previous product Robomaster S1 but adds several new capabilities. The most obvious difference is various extension modules like the gripper, robotic arm and the servo. That means you can manipulate objects in 3D space by having one arm pick up an object while the other holds it steady. The intelligent controller can simultaneously support various functions and projects with the robotic arm, which extends the capacity of the previous version, Robomaster S1.
The package includes everything you need to build your own Robomaster: the main chassis, four detectors and motors, batteries and chargers, plus all of the hardware you need to build your robot. You can use the Robomaster S1 and EP Core to build several AI applications with various gameplay modes and intelligence.
If you already own the DJI Robomaster S1 and are looking at the EP core for its various modes and intelligent features, it’s an upgrade. You can still use most of the structural modules of the DJI Robomaster S1 with EP Core, except the controllers.
You can use various modes to control DJI Robomaster S1 and EP Core — through a typical keyboard and mouse setup, DJI gamepad or a touchscreen. With the multiple gameplay modes and intelligence of the Robomaster EP Core, you can use this game-changing educational robot to:
- Develop audio and video programs combined with AI with the input data from sensor modules
- Conduct several data analysis projects like pattern recognition, deep learning and various other personalization features
- Use the intelligent motion controller to create vehicles with autonomous driving and self-obstacle detection
- An intelligent controller can simultaneously support integration with other hardware like Arduino or Raspberry Pi
- Build multi-channel communication by using the smart modes and intelligent features with real-time interaction
RoboMaster EP Core is an all-in-one solution for STEM robot education.
The Cutting-Edge Equipment and Technology:
The RoboMaster EP Core is made up of steel possessing the futuristic and leek design. This provides the consistent support for classroom learning.

Mecanum Wheels: The RoboMaster EP Core coems with 4 Mecanum wheels, which consist of 12 rollers in each of the 4 wheels. The rollers allows the omnidirectional movement with precision control. The Mecanum wheels are same Robomaster S1 model.
Robotic Arm: An incredibly durable, compact and flexible tool supporting the FPV control precisely. The Robotic Arms will allow the students to complete the task even if the objects are far out of sight. The Robotics Arm is not available in previous generation S1 which was biggest improvement from DJI EP core to support educational needs and support classroom activities with student to perform.
High Performance Servo: The servo supports the customized controls through the EP's main control board. The high performance servo ensures the minimum hear backlash, large output torque and high control accuracy. The servo is also used to power the robotic arm and support the DC gear motor mode. This will allow the students to build the lifting structure by applying their knowledge of physics.
Intelligent Controller: The intelligent controller can simultaneously support many different functions as AI computing, low-latency high definition mage transmission and so on. It also coordinates he command signal to execute the transmission.
Compatible with Third-Party Hardware
The RoboMaster EP Core supports third-party open-source hardware such as Micro:bit, Arduino, and Raspberry Pi. These items can be connected and powered via serial ports on the main controller of the chassis. The EP Core can also perform model training and scene recognition through AI platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson Nano and the official DJI SDK, enhancing students’ understandings of the operating principles of AI.
