Celebrate Arduino® day with Pakronics® in Oz

Pakronics is organising a competition for choreographing OTTO robot powered by latest Arduino® Nano Every board

It’s 15th Birthday of Arduino® on 21st March 2020. Pakronics® is running a competition where participant will submit their video of OTTO powered by latest Arduino® Nano Every board by 21 March 2020 15:59:59 (Australian Eastern Standard time). Each participant will customise costume, program and choreograph their own robot.

Arduino® is an open-source hardware, software, and content platform with a worldwide community of over 30 million active users. It has powered thousands of projects over the years, from everyday objects to complex scientific instruments. This success has been made possible by combining a wide variety of electronic boards, easy-to-use tools, a collaborative community, and practical project examples to suit all levels.

OTTO is truly Opensource; it means the hardware is easily discerned so that others can freely make it, compatible with Arduino®, easy to 3D print and customize, and therefore, the perfect opportunity to build your very first robot, learn robotics and have fun. the act of building and coding your own OTTO will create an emotional connection, feel of ownership and improves the learning.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

All user groups, Makerspaces, Hackerspaces, teachers, professionals, and newbies are welcome. Due to complexity of Arduino® code it would ideal suitable for age 12+.Also, it can be celebrated in your class as a class or your Makerspace activity. Please note we want to celebrate the Arduino® day so no counterfeit boards. You can read about counterfeited board here. 

HOW IT WORKS?


1.Register

All participants need to register their interest to receive guideline and resources to get you started by 8th March 2020

This competition is ideally for age 12+ who also have access to 3D printer or laser cutter and a computer. 


2.Choreograph your OTTO 

OTTO is a cute little robot that you can make and program (using Arduino programming) to dance on your song/tune.

3.Share your video

You will need to submit your video before 4 pm (AEST) on 21st March 2020
